Lincoln Woodstock Bear Parade

Bears on Parade Contest

What is Bears on Parade?

Bears on Parade is the Lincoln/Woodstock Chamber’s coolest, friendliest and most fun public outdoor art event of the year. A variety of businesses have each decorated, adorned, embellished and painted 36” tall dancing bears.

Where are the Bears?

These colorful Bears will be coming out of hibernation on January 15th, 2010 and taking up residence throughout the area at your favorite restaurants, businesses and Inns . The Chamber of Commerce has come up with the idea of making this wonderful public arts project even more fun by creating several interactive components. Bear location maps will be provided by participating businesses. Bear parade map holders can collect “bear paw” stamps and vote for their favorite bears. The bears will even have their own float in the 4th of July parade.

What happens to the bears at the end of the “Bears on Parade”?

We’re glad you asked! This is the best part of the entire event. One lucky bear will be raffled off to a new home. At the conclusion of “Bears on Parade” all other bears will go up for auction. This will be your chance to bid on and win a bear of your own. Money raised at the gala auction in November, 2010 will go to support local community programs.

So, come join in the cele‘bear’tion! Plan a visit and explore our interactive public arts project while enjoying all that Lincoln and Woodstock has to offer—great restaurants, unique gift shops, beautiful inns and resorts, breathtaking scenery, extensive recreational opportunities and friendly ambiance.

On one of the bears, there is a number painted on its paw. What is the significance of this number?
