Fields of Lupine Festival

The Fields of Lupine Festival is an annual event sponsored by the Franconia Notch Chamber of Commerce, taking place June 4 through June 20. We are extending an invitation to all to join us for this three-week festival. Many have likened the beauty of this event to the brilliance of our fall foliage season.  Come for a day, come for a weekend, or come for a week!

The Lupines are plentiful in our area and businesses in the Sugar Hill, Franconia and Easton started the Fields of Lupine Festival and it is now in its 17th year.  The Festival has expanded to include businesses in the towns of Lincoln, Woodstock, Bethlehem, Littleton, and Lisbon.  Participating businesses offer special events and sales promotions during the three weeks of the Festival.

First and foremost, we invite people to come and enjoy our fields of Lupine. There are many beautiful fields of Lupine in the area although the field at the Sampler is in a recovery stage.  Check our Fields of Lupine Tour Book for a local area map with several lupine sites highlighted and travel our back roads to find those new patches of Lupine that have been sown by nature.

Tour the lupine fields by foot or horse-drawn wagon.   Visit our museums and attractions:  Sugar Hill Historic Museum, New England Ski Museum, Franconia Heritage Museum, The Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway, and the Frost Place.   Festival events include art exhibits, concerts, walking tours, an open-air market, specialty dinners at local inns, and a variety of promotions at local businesses.  The 7th annual Fields of Lupine Art Show is planned for June 6th and 7th at Sugar Hill’s Historic Meetinghouse.

Your ticket to take part in the events is the Fields of Lupine Festival Tour Book, which includes a calendar of events, local map, descriptions of participating businesses, delicious recipes from participating businesses, and the Tour Book provides discounts at local businesses.  Some Festival events may require an additional cost; all of which is explained in the booklet.  Copies of the 2010 Fields of Lupine Festival Tour Book will be on sale at all tour locations and at the Franconia Notch Chamber Booth in Franconia.  Books will be available May 1st.  The book is $5.00 if purchased locally or $7.00 if you wish it mailed to you

Check www.franconianotch.org and www.HarmansCheese.com for updates, as festival activities are added throughout the season.

See you in June!
