Trips and Tours in the White Mountains, Franconia Notch, and the Kancamagus

Start your vacation to the Lincoln Woodstock area by taking in all the wonderful sights.Franconia Notch - Photo copyright Bob Kozlow We are surrounded on all sides by the White Mountain National Forest.

Our little towns are located just south of the Franconia Notch state park and on the western entrance of the Kancamagus Scenic Byway ( NH Route 112 ).

The Kancamagus Highway is one of the most scenic routes through the White Mountains. Locals call it "The Kanc". This route runs east to west and climbs to nearly 3,000 feet above sea level.

Travelers who head north will be awed by the towering granite cliffs and soaring mountains of Franconia Notch. Not just a pretty ride, a trip to the notch is full of opportunities for hiking, fishing, camping, or mountain biking. In the winter activities include downhill and cross-country skiing.

Also just to the north and east are Mount Washington with the famous Cog Railway, the Mount Washington Valley, and other popular summer attractions such as Story Land, Heritage New Hampshire, Santa’s Village and Six Gun City. Lincoln Woodstock is your centrally located base to explore all the best the Granite State has to offer.

South of Lincoln are Waterville Valley and the Lakes Region. As you travel south, the mountains give way to the Lakes Region. Day trips to Squam Lake, the location for the movie “On Golden Pond” or Lake Winnipesaukee are always enjoyable.

We are host to many unique family attractions and natural beauty. We have several recommendations of "must do's". Whatever direction you choose to take, the Lincoln Woodstock area invites your exploration. Be sure to plan enough time to discover this unique part of New Hampshire.
